Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR, M1917 Enfiled or M1 Garand Rifle – Dated 1918 – Three Hook Version – NICE Condition. There sling is faintly dated 1918 w/J. This sling has three correct WWI Blackened Brass Hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling on the surface of the leather. Some cracking at one point, see photo’s. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich russet brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. This sling was originally made specifically for the M1918A3 BAR Rifle. It was made slightly longer and with three adjustment hooks, instead of two. This was to help make it easier to adjust the sling. This is a 1 1/4 standard width, so it is interchangable with any WWI or WWII era US Rifle. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Original – Nice Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. No deep cracks or crazing. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original rich dark brown color. No visible markings on the sling. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items.
