The identifying characteristic of this sling is the adjustment buckle: it is inscribed Pat. Jan 12, 1897, indicating it was based on US Patent 575,164, granted to W. Johnson, assignees of Winchester Corporation, New Haven, Connecticut. The sling and swivel combination measures just under 27.5 as currently adjusted; it can be shortened or lengthened to fit your requirements.
