Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal 1914 – Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1914. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is wrinkling of the leather. No rips or tears in the leather. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. Very hard to find Early 1914 Dated slings from this period. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items.
