Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Marked RIA 1917. The sling is faintly marked RIA and dated 1917. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has one leather keeper. The leather is soft and supple. There is wrinkling and surface cracking of the leather. No rips or tears in the leather. The longer strap looks to have been shortened by about 4″ to 5″. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles.
