Long strap is 49″ long and short strap is 24″ long and each are 1 1/4 wide. The removable leather loops are 1 1/2″ x 5/8″. This is in very good condition. There are no rips in the leather straps. The 2 removable loops look nice. The hardware is good on the front, but the back rivets have some oxidation. The stitching looks good and the holes are not stretched out. Offered for sale is an original 1920s-1930s USMC variation M1907 sling. These were made by West Coast saddleries and have two sets of four holes on the short strap and the leather is thicker. The leather is pliable but does have wear to the finish from use. No rips, tears, or added holes are present. One of the rivets on the hook of the short strap is missing but replacing it would be an easy fix; the other rivets are present and sturdy. Neither of the keeper loops are present. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 SPRINGFIELD GARAND MILSCO M-1907 LEATHER RIFLE SLING is in good condition, with some deep partial cracks around some of the lower adjustment holes, making the sling suitable for a STATIC DISPLAY ONLY, and with some scattered darkening and age wear evident (ALL pictured). The Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) was developed for the US Army late in WW1, and proved its effectiveness in the climactic battle of the Argonne Forest. With a few improvements during the interwar period, the BAR soldiered on into WW2, and was heavily used by Marines in the Pacific. A specially designed leather sling was issued to BAR gunners during WW2, which was longer and featured three hooks as opposed to the two on the standard M-1907 rifle sling. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 HICKOK 3 PRONG LEATHER BAR SLING is in excellent condition, with some light scattered drying, darkening, and surface cracking, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured).
