Pre-WWI British Army Leather Sling for the Lee-Metford or SMLE Lee-Enfield Rifle – Dated 1910 – Original – RARE. The leather is soft and supple. Some wrinkling on the surface of the leather, no cracking or crazing of the leather. The sling is approximately 46 in overall length. It is marked: C. Bussey & Geld, 1910. The case is used, please see photo’s for condition. These are RARE and not often encountered. This is the Leather Rifle Sling that was commonly used on the Lee-Metford, P14 Enfield and all of the British SMLE Lee-Enfield Rifles during WWI. Check out my other items. Handcrafted rifle sling, made by Seelye Leather Works. Hand tooled and carved, made from veg-tanned cow and lined with pebble cow leather. The sling is padded, adjustable and has Chicago screw fasteners. The sling starting length is 30 1/2″ long and adjusts out to 33″ long. SLW’s items are handcrafted, making each item unique. SLW uses only the finest natural leather, and the natural surface of leather has it own characteristics. The proof of its uniqueness is the marking that occur during the life of the animal. Leather used to create SLW will include scratches, scares, brands, insect bites, indentation and scuffs.
