Pre-WWI British Army Leather Sling for the Lee-Metford or SMLE Lee-Enfield Rifle – Dated 1910 – Original – RARE. The leather is soft and supple. Some wrinkling on the surface of the leather, no cracking or crazing of the leather. The sling is approximately 46 in overall length. It is marked: C. Bussey & Geld, 1910. The case is used, please see photo’s for condition. These are RARE and not often encountered. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal – Original – Excellent Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. Some minor surface cracks. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is marked: Rock Island Arsenal w/H.
