Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Marked: HOYT 1918 – Very Nice Condition. The sling is marked: HOYT and dated 1918. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keeper. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor surface cracking of the leather. No deep cracks, no breaks through the leather. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. The lower rivet of the hook, on the longer strap is starting to pull through the back of the leather. Still attached to the leahter. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Original – Nice Condition. This is the Early Longer, 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 70″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. Some surface cracks and minor crazing on the surface of the leather. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is very faintly marked with the inspector initals at the tip of the sling. No other visible markings. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items.
