Original WWII Japanese Army Type 38 T38 Arisaka brown leather rifle sling. The sling can also be mounted and used on Type 99 T99 Arisaka. Yes, this sling is absolutely strong enough to both mount on your Arisaka and also Use The Sling on your Arisaka!! These slings are quite scarce and this one is brown in color and has supple leather. Complete with correct steel wartime adjustment buckle. Sling also has a steel fastening end button and a very well worn leather loop. Found this neat old sling at a small local gun show at the bottom of a table holders miscellaneous catch all holster and straps box. You know those boxes, you’ve probably seen them yourself. Looking down inside the box to the bottom, I got lucky for once and found this sling. Strap leather is still reddish brown in color. Sling was fastened together when I got it. I disassembled the sling to better photograph the sling. It’s a pretty good example of an Original Japanese WWII Arisaka Rifle Sling Strap. Both steel pieces are magnetic. Old kanji painted characters probably soldier ownership or possibly ownership and/or unit markings on the leather sling strap. Some of the kanji markings are faded into the leather a good deal, only enough left there to let you know what once was there, essentially a ghost image for some of the kanji characters. Yet, other kanji markings are stronger as the pictures bear out. Leather is worn from age and use but surprisingly the leather is quite strong and leather looks to be entirely intact. Correct Steel Adjustment Buckle fits well. Leather keeper is very worn and has stretched some. I don’t know if the steel end button is the proper one or not but it was on the sling when I got it. Same for the worn leather keeper, was on the sling when I got it. Length of sling strap is 43 inches long end to end. Width of the strap is between 1 1/8 inches and 1 3/16 inches wide.
