This sling was originally made from 3 sections that are sewed together and the stitching is very strong. It has one brass hook that has a nice shape to it and is securely fastened. The vast majority of the surface is very nice with some surface wear on the end that has the keeper. Both keepers are very nice but the stitching has come loose where the ends meet. Up for sale, a very rare SVT 40 sling. This sling is an early version and is all leather. This is an example of a real all leather STV 40 sling. Notice the spear shape tabs and that all of the points are sewn. This shows it authenticity. This sling is in good shape for being 70+ years old. The leather is still pliable. I dont see any ripping or tearing. There is surface discoloration and rippling from use and age which is to be expected. The straps that connect to the rifle have some surface cracks where they bend over. Measurements are as follows: tip to tip: 57.5 1st leather strap tip to buckle: 10 2nd leather strap tip to buckle: 17.75 Strap width where in attaches to the rifle. 75 Sling width in the middle: 1.125 Please see all pics as they are part of the items description and of the actual item you will receive.
