Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 1st Pattern – Original – Marked: Ridabock & Co. Nice Condition – Very RARE. This is the 1st Pattern Sling, with a single hook at one end and a sewen leather sling keeper at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 42″ long. The leather is soft and supple, no cracking or breaks in the leather. It has the original sling keeper. Still has the original rich dark brown color. The sling was made by a commercial firm. It is marked Ridabock & Co, New York. This was probably used by a State Militia or Guard Unit. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items.
