This recent estate find is a Lot 3 Original WW1 (2) 1918 one marked and one not & (1) 1907? Leather Rifle Sling that are in good overall condition for use and age wear. With Measurements of all three Rifle Slings are standard and have not been cut or altered with a 1 2/8″Width on the 1918′s & 1″Width on the 1907? – All 3 show some Use/Age wear.. This is an original K98k. I’m not sure whether it’s German or Israeli, however. These slings were also used on the G41, G43, K43, Mkb42, MP43, MP44, and STG44 rifles. It is brown leather, 53 inches long (measured unfolded, entire length), one inch wide, has what appears to be a blued brass or bronze slide buckle, also the keeper/loop. Cross-hatch embossing (aka ricasso pattern). The only marking I can find is a number on the sling itself… It’s a bit stiff but is pliable and has no cracks or breaks that I can see. Decent original WWII M1 Garand sling. This would be a nice sling to finish off a good original M1. Its flexible but could use some care. I would not use this for much of anything beyond show.
