Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal 1914 – Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1914. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is wrinkling of the leather. No rips or tears in the leather. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. Very hard to find Early 1914 Dated slings from this period. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 2nd Pattern – Original – Very Nice Condition. Up for Sale is an Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling. This is the 2nd Pattern Sling, with a single hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. These longer slings were commonly made by sewing two salvaged Civil War Musket Sling together. You can see the seam were the two slings were sewen together. The only visible markings on the sling is a “US”. The leather is soft and supple, some wrinkling of the leather. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items. Up for sale is a. US Army USMC Leather Rifle Gun Sling 1 1/4 Wide Marked MRT APR. The approximate measurements are shown in the photos. Long strap is 49″ long and short strap is 24″ long and each are 1 1/4 wide. The removable leather loops are 1 1/2″ x 5/8″. This is in very good condition. There are no rips in the leather straps. The 2 removable loops look nice. The hardware is good on the front, but the back rivets have some oxidation. The stitching looks good and the holes are not stretched out. Offered for sale is an original 1920s-1930s USMC variation M1907 sling. These were made by West Coast saddleries and have two sets of four holes on the short strap and the leather is thicker. The leather is pliable but does have wear to the finish from use. No rips, tears, or added holes are present. One of the rivets on the hook of the short strap is missing but replacing it would be an easy fix; the other rivets are present and sturdy. Neither of the keeper loops are present. Some wrinkling and minor surface cracks. No crazing in the leather. No breaks in the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original russett brown color. There are no visible manufacture markings on the sling. Faint inspector initals near the stud end. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition.
