Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal – Original – Very Nice Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 70″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil war musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is starting to stiffen, but is still supple and pliable. Some wrinkling and minor surface cracks in the leather, no crazing. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is marked: Rock Island Arsenal. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Some surface cracks, no crazing on the surface of the leather. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is faintly marked with the inspector initals at the tip of the sling. No other visible markings or dates. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 SPRINGFIELD GARAND MILSCO M-1907 LEATHER RIFLE SLING is in good condition, with some deep partial cracks around some of the lower adjustment holes, making the sling suitable for a STATIC DISPLAY ONLY, and with some scattered darkening and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the sling is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic metal sizing “claws”, features both of the original brown leather adjusting slides, and is twice lightly stamped at the upper front with its maker and date, “MILSCO / 1943″. Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Nice Condition. Ther are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is very soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling and cracking on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich dark brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. A few extra adjustment holes have been punched into the sling. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. No visible markings on the sling. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use.
