This is the 3-Hook Version, designed for the BAR Rifle. This sling has the correct WWII Steel hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. The sling is marked: MRT 3-59. The leather has darkened slightly due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional post-WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Leather Rifle Sling – 3rd Pat. Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is an. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Leather Rifle Sling – 3rd Pattern. The leather is soft and supple. The leather has darkened with age, dark brown in color. This is the 3rd pattern sling with the narrow hooks and round holes. This is an early 3rd Pattern one piece leather sling, not one of the more common ones made from two salvaged civil war slings sewn together. There are some surface cracks in the sling and some wrinkling. It has the brass stud. These slings are getting very difficult to find. Check out my other items.
