Original WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling for the M1 Garand & M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfield Rifle – Marked: Boyt -44- Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWII Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is faintly marked: Boyt -44. This sling has the correct WWII Steel hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. There are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather, please see photos. The leather has darkened with age. The stitching is all tight and intact, no fraying. This is an Original Functional WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. Original WWI M1907 U. Army Leather Rifle Sling – Stamped G&K 1918. Made by G&K (Graton & Knight) In 1918. Brass is in good condition, without verdigris, but there is cracking in between some of the hook holes. None of the cracks extend through the sling. As such, this would be an excellent sling for display for an M1903 or M1917 as it looks great. The brass has green tarnishing forming on and around fittings(I left it as is). There is signs of cracking near the bends on the sling(3rd photo), it was taken off a 1903. This is the 4th pattern sling with the wide hooks and oval holes. This is an early 4th Pattern one piece leather sling, not one of the more common ones made from two salvaged civil war slings sewn together. There are no visible markings or dates. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. Still retains some of the original blackening on the brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. There are no visible markings or dates on the sling. The lower hook rivet, on the lower short strap has partially pulled through the leather. The other two rivets are tight.
