Original WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling for the M1 Garand & M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfield Rifle – Marked: Boyt -44- Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWII Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is faintly marked: Boyt -44. This sling has the correct WWII Steel hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. There are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather, please see photos. The leather has darkened with age. The stitching is all tight and intact, no fraying. This is an Original Functional WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. Our only discovery at an otherwise promising estate sale yesterday was this sling, found of all places in a 3. The sling appears to have not been issued as there is really no wear and no evidence of the claws being in the adjustment holes except one pair on one section. The markings BOYT -42- are excellent. The sling has never been oiled. Very heavy, strong leather. Just a slight amount of verdigras on the brass rivets holding the steel hooks.
