I removed from sling from a Springfield Trapdoor. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It appears to be from that same vintage, but I’m not certain. The leather shows dry cracking but nothing out of the ordinary for this age. No markings that I could find on it. The sling is 1. Parts Questions and Requests. For sale here is a great looking WW2 German Brown Leather K98 Rifle Sling. The sling is in good condition, but does show some age, drying, and patina. The leather is supple and strong, but does show some drying. The metal fittings are brass and show heavy green age. The brass pull stop is marked with a stylized maker mark. The side of the leather is marked with what appears to be a circular maker mark followed by a string of numbers that are mostly illegible. This is a great looking sling. This sling was originally made from 3 sections that are sewed together and the stitching is very strong. It has one brass hook that has a nice shape to it and is securely fastened. The vast majority of the surface is very nice with some surface wear on the end that has the keeper. Both keepers are very nice but the stitching has come loose where the ends meet.
