For sale here is a great looking US WW2 M1907 Leather Rifle Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1 Garand. The sling is 1943 dated. The sling is marked Milsco 1943. The sling is complete with 2 leather keepers, 1 brass and 1 steel adjustment hook, 2 blued steel slide hooks with blued rifle attachments, and 1 blued steel connector ring. Both of the adjustment hooks still retain some of their blued finish, but do show some finish loss. The leather is lightly stiffened, but is still plenty supple enough to move around as it should. The leather is good and strong, but there are a couple of places with surface finish loss and there is some surface cracking at a couple of the hole sets. All of the stitching is strong and the metal fittings, though worn, do not have any major issues. This sling will definitely display well, and should be fine for everyday carry as well. Excellent indeed, you have to look hard to find a couple tiny marks. No scratches, this never made it out into the field. Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR, M1917 Enfiled or M1 Garand Rifle – Three Hook Version – Very Nice Condition. There sling has faintly JF inspector initals. No other visible markings or dates. This sling has three correct WWI Blackened Brass Hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich russet brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. This sling was originally made specifically for the M1918A3 BAR Rifle. It was made slightly longer and with three adjustment hooks, instead of two. This was to help make it easier to adjust the sling and to prevent the sling from slipping under the heavier weight and recoil of the weapon. This is a 1 1/4 standard width, so it is interchangable with any WWI or WWII era US Rifle. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items.
