Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. There are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. No rips or tears in the leather. A few minor surface cracks and some wrinkling of the leather. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. For sale here is a great looking US WW2 M1903 Springfield or M1 Garand Leather Rifle Sling. The sling is made of brown leather and has darkened steel hardware. Unfortunately, the steel hardware has lost almost all of its finish, but it does have a nice mellow patina. As is common with these, there are some surface cracks at some of the prong holes. However, the sling remains supple and strong, and there aren’t very many of the cracks compared to many others that i have owned. This sling appears to be marked BOYT 43. However, this is very light and very hard to see. The eighth picture is where i have tried to photo the marking. It takes just the right light and angle to see the marking.
