Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Original – Nice Condition. This is the Early Longer, 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 70″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil war musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. Some surface cracks, no crazing on the surface of the leather. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is faintly marked with the inspector initals at the tip of the sling. No other visible markings or dates. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items. ORIGINAL US ARMY LEATHER RIFLE SLING For the Springfield or Garand rifle. I cant see or find any markings or stamps on it. The sling well used condition and does show some wear and has some cracks to the leather from age, (I have tried to show this in the photographs) It could probably do with some leather feed. The sturdy M-1907 leather rifle sling of WW1 proved so successful that it was again procured during WW2 to carry both the Springfield and the Garand. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 SPRINGFIELD GARAND MILSCO M-1907 LEATHER RIFLE SLING is in good condition, with some deep partial cracks around some of the lower adjustment holes, making the sling suitable for a STATIC DISPLAY ONLY, and with some scattered darkening and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the sling is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic metal sizing “claws”, features both of the original brown leather adjusting slides, and is twice lightly stamped at the upper front with its maker and date, “MILSCO / 1943″. I removed from sling from a Springfield Trapdoor. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It appears to be from that same vintage, but I’m not certain. The leather shows dry cracking but nothing out of the ordinary for this age. No markings that I could find on it. The sling is 1. Parts Questions and Requests. This is the best most supple soft leather WWII rifle sling we have had in years! The sling is a beauty and supple as new. No cracks or dryness to this one! I don’t find a marking but that is not uncommon with these. Steel hooks make it a WWII produced sling. This came off a mint WWII Training rifle that was never issued and is in that kind of condition! Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Nice Condition. Ther are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is very soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling and cracking on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich dark brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. A few extra adjustment holes have been punched into the sling. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. No visible markings on the sling. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use.
