Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – VERY NICE Condition. Ther are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is flexible and supple. The sling is starting to stiffen. There is some minor wrinkling and minor cracking on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich dark brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. For sale here is a nice looking US WW1 RIA 1908 Marked Leather Strap. I do not know what this strap is, so if you do, let me know, and i will update the listing. The strap is complete with sewn in leather keeper, and has 5 round center buckle holes. The end of the strap is marked C9C R. The strap is made of brown leather and is 25 3/4″ long and is 1 1/4″ wide. The strap is in good overall condition, but does show some darkening, dark spots and age. The leather is strong and supple. I removed from sling from an 1888 Springfield Trapdoor. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It appears to be from that same vintage, but I’m not certain. The leather shows dry cracking but nothing out of the ordinary for this age. No markings that I could find on it. The sling is 1. Parts Questions and Requests. Original WW II Era leather rifle sling for the Garand or Springfield rifles. It has no legible markings although on the surface near one of the hooks, with a magnifying glass, I think there is a “3″ in the area where a date would be. I could not make this come out in the photos. The hooks are steel. The sling is in very good condition. There are no stains or tears or scuffs. There are marks from use and wear. Original and nice early Indian War single hook leather sling for the U. 45-70 caliber Trapdoor rifle. This original 68 inch sling was the earliest sling used on the M1873 Trapdoor Rifle and were manufactured from re-cycled Civil War musket slings. The sling would be correct for any Trapdoor rifle manufactured from 1874 until the mid 1880′s until early variations of the M1887 sling were manufactured and used. These early Trapdoor slings are very hard to find especially in pliable condition to be actually installed on a rifle.
