Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Nice Condition. Ther are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling and cracking on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich dark brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. There is a unit marking stamped into the sling, see photo. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 5th Pattern – Original – Nice Condition. This is the 5th Pattern Sling, with the Narow prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximately 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the round holes. This sling is made from salvage civil war musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple, starting to stiffen at the swivel areas. Some cracking at the swivel areas. The sling has been repaired with hand leather lacing, see photo’s. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original rich dark brown color. No visible markings on the sling. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon.
