Sling is flexible but it is 55 years I found unopened first two pictures are in the unopened state I was carefull opening staples and staples will be supplied if you want to put it back like it was. This is an original WW2 era M1 Garand or 1903 Springfield Rifle strap. The leather strap is in great condition overall. The leather is completely in tact with some minor use and aging wear. There is some cracking in the area between some of the adjustment holes. This is normal wear. None of this cracking in the leather goes all the way through, but the cracking does break the surface of the leather. The stitching is all tight and original with no missing stitches. The metal fasteners are in excellent condition as well. The metal fasteners are from WW2 and indicate that this item was WW2 production. The exterior of the strap is stamped “MRT 11-57″. I believe this is a post WW2 stamp, and this was re-issued in 1957 to a police unit or some sort of defense company. Feel free to ask any questions. Legacy Item Number: 090816-3.
