I make wild looking, tooled leather Rifle & Shotgun Slings that look like no other, so if you want a sling that’s every bit as custom and high quality as your favorite rifle, this is it. I have been a Sheet-metal worker for 30 years and have worked Leather off and on for 35 years and have found by combining my skills from both trades I can make some very unique slings. I do this by using my years as a metal worker to custom design metal patterns, trace them out onto the leather and then freehand cut the unique shapes out of the heavy 7-10 oz. The unlined leather is then hand tool with artwork, that is dyed and hand painted, oiled and sealed. I finish by adding quality nickel plated or brass hardware and a thumb ring and then buff the leather to a nice luster. This is an original WW2 era M1 Garand rifle sling. The leather strap is maker stamped J. With no other markings. The strap is in great shape, but there is some minor cracking on the leather in a few places. There are no rips or major flaws in the leather though. Most of the wear is normal aging. The stitching is all tight and original with no issues. The metal fixtures are in great shape with no issues as well. Guaranteed original and authentic. I believe these were used in WW1 and WW2 for the 1903 Springfield and M1 Garand rifles. Legacy Item Number: 051916-10.
