This M1907 Military Rifle Sling is hand-made by me in a small one man shop. This sling is made from 8/10 oz. Tanned North American leather and American Made attachments, and is 1.25 inches wide you will need swivels made for a 1.25 inch sling for your rifle or shotgun, for this sling to fit. The sling claws are solid brass and attached with solid brass Chicago Screws. Color of this sling is MAHOGANY–this sling is dipped dyed with Professional Oil Dye and then treated with Montana Pitch Blend Oil and then is finished with at least 4 coats of quality Leather Conditioners to help protect from the elements of Mother Nature. Between each application of Leather Conditioners the sling is hand rubbed for deep penetration and durability. All edges are hand burnished and sealed with 100% Pure Local Bees Wax. This sling is sewn with #277 Military Spec. Polyester Cord with a tensile strength of approx. The belt keepers are hand-sewn, using a saddle stich, with Bees waxed Braded Polyester cord, 1.1mm thick. This sling is approx. 50 1/2 Long Strap , Short Strap is approx. There are a total of 24 adjustment holes in the Long Strap and 16 adjustment holes in the Short Strap. Leather is a natural product, so it has a characteristic of its own… There maybe some scars or other blemishes, but this adds to the uniqueness of handmade natural products, no two, truly handmade products, are alike. With quality leather products, there is a breaking in period… Please do not force the leather to conform in the way as you can a canvas or nylon sling–if you bend or squeeze the leather tight against your swivels during the breaking in period, you will crack it and this can not be repaired. Take your time with this sling and enjoy it… Using it is the best way to break it in. If you take care of this heavy handcrafted leather sling, it will last you many years and may become a treasured heirloom for generations to come. PLEASE NOTE : Because of the Heavy Duty Brass Claw, Chicago Screws and the heavy leather used in making these slings–the Brass Claw on the short strap may need to be removed to fit through some sling swivels. Unmarked This sling has two buckles: one to adjust the diameter around the arm and the other to adjust the length. It is also possible to move the position of the buckles if they’re not in the right position for you. The holes are quite close together, which gives a very fine length adjustment and it is, of course, made of real leather. Looks to have been used very little if at all. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Original – Excellent Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. No cracks or crazing. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keeper. Still has the original dark brown color. No visible markings on the sling. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items.
