M1907 pattern rifle sling. Bought from an estate sale. I’m not sure if it’s military issue or perhaps bought post-war for hunting purposes. Either is possible as I don’t see any obvious markings. Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – Dated 1918 – Nice Condition. The sling is dated 1918. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keeper. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling and surface cracks on the surface of the leather. There is a vintage repair at the end of the short segment of the sling. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles.
