This is a very nice sling with. He color is a. Darker brown and is pretty. The leather is firm. The longer section is very smooth and has little wear. And some very minor surface cracking. The shorter section has minor surface wrinkling and cracking with some. Hole pairs having some surface cracking. The frogs are securely attached. And have normal finish wear. With a WWI date. Are hard to read. Comes with 2 nice sling keepers. All stitching is strong and completely intact. See my other sling listings. Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfield Rifle – Marked: G&K 1918 – Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked: G&K 1918. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. Still retains some of the original blackening on the brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. There are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather, please see photos. The leather has darkened due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items.
