This sling is in very good condition. The cross hatching is clearly visible throughout the surface. The stampings on the butt keeper are partially clear. The leather is soft and pliable with minor surface wear. The buckle works well and shows slight wear. The leather is complete around the butt keeper with minor wear. The marks on both straps are visible but difficult to depict with a camera. The finish on the leather is worn but there are no tears or major cracks. I don’t see any reason that this sling could not carry an M1 Garand in its current condition. Put a little neatsfoot oil on it or saddle soap and it will be preserved for years.
