Pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1866-74 Gras Rifle Leather Sling – Original – Very NICE Condition – RARE. Up for sale is a pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1866-74 Gras Rifle Leather Sling. The leather is soft and supple. It has the leather keeper, brass buckle and brass stud. The are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather. The stitching is intact, no fraying. There are three notches cut into the lower edge of the sling, see photo. There are no markings or dates on the sling. Original slings for the Gras Rifle are very hard to find, especially in this condition. This sling is suitable for an historic display on your rifle. It is NOT recommended for actual usage.
