One original US model of 1917 enfield (P-17) rifle 30-06 caliber rifle (same sling for the model of 1903 springfield and the early issue M-1 garand) , brown leather sling, marked L. Orig WW1 1918 dated Model 1907 leather rifle sling.. From the estate of a very high end collector of militaria from all wars…. This nice old sling was not sitting on a rifle for years too tightly so it does not have serious stress cracks… Looks to have maybe been treatd years ago…. Both leather keepers are preent…. Both brass claws have all rivets in place and solid… Can’t make out the maker for sure but date is clearly 1918…. Leather of course does have wear spots… A great sling for display but as they do not make em anymore I don’t recommend hard field use…. These slingsa are correct for the 03 springfield rifle as well as the Model 1917…. They were also often used on into ww2 so is absolulely correct for that Garand too! Any questions just shout. I removed from sling from a Springfield 1903. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It is marked HBC co and 1918 I think, its hard to read the stamping. The leather is pretty good. M-1 Garand, M1903 Springfield type Leather Rifle Sling dated 1918 marked G&K. This appears to be a WWI, World War I manufactured sling that is in nice shape. Up to you to use it to carry M-1 or’03. Major problem is that the rivets on one of the hooks needs to be repaired. I was told that there are rivets available to do this. The leather is soft, flexible and not dry rotted. The second hook looks to be firmly attached. The loop that holds the extra strap in place appears to be sound.
