Offered is an original old WWI vintage Model 1907 Leather Adjustable Rifle Sling. This old sling is in good used condition but it has been stored for years and the leather is a little dry and stiff. There is some surface cracking on the leather but I don’t see any cracks that are very deep and it probably would still be plenty strong enough to use as a sling however I will sell it as a display piece just to be safe. It has a good maker mark stamped on it and is dated 1918. The brass hook ends have some green verdigris on them which should clean right up but I leave that to the new owner. Both of the leather keeper loops are present and in good shape. The worst flaw I can see is that it has had a rack number painted on it at some point in the past in white paint. I don’t know if this could be removed or not? With some elbow grease and rejuvenating oil this old sling should make a nice addition to an old WWI rifle display. Decent servicable condition, some wear and cracking, but overall very good for a 102 year old sling.
