This Original, stamped Duncan 1917 dated Sling is in very nice condition. It just needs a little cleaning on the brass and you will be ready to use or display the set. M1 Garand leather original rifle sling ww2 WRA Winchester, Springfield. I bought one too many of these at The CMP North Store. This one is in great shape and the leather is soft. I’d recommend still using Lexol leather cleaner on it though just to freshen it up. The brass on it needs polished of course. The only stamp on it says P. I included a picture of it. A nice find at the flea market last month! Sling appears nearly unissued. It holds the shape of having been on a rifle, but does not have significant wear or tear. Nicely stamped BOYT 43, with GAR stamped next to each of the steel clasps. Backside of the brass rivets holding the clasps shows some verdigris, as is to be expected after 80 years. Leather is a bit stiff, but you should have no problem getting this on a rifle and using it carefully! No cracking to the leather. I think the dark staining/marking on the one side of the sling is factory staining, the short side of the sling has none of that on it and is clean leather. Post-WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling for the M1 Garand & BAR Rifle – 3-Hook Version – MRT 3-59 – Excellent Condition. Up for sale is an Original post-WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling. This is the 3-Hook Version, designed for the BAR Rifle. This sling has the correct WWII Steel hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. The sling is marked: MRT 3-59. The leather has darkened slightly due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional post-WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Found this at a local estate sale. In good used condition. Leather is soft and will bend without breaking. Everything looks original to me. Mark is very readable. Shows good honest wear but no abuse. Orig WW1-WW2 Model 1907 leather rifle sling.. Hoyt 1918..03 Sprngfld.. A great sling for your 1903 springfield, US Model of 1917 or even on into ww2 for your Garand etc….
