I removed from sling from a Springfield Trapdoor. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It appears to be from that same vintage, but I’m not certain. The leather shows dry cracking but nothing out of the ordinary for this age. No markings that I could find on it. The sling is 1. Parts Questions and Requests. This would include fitment, period correct installation, additional pictures, etc. I would love to help you in any which way I can! Please be certain that all vintage parts are installed correctly and safely. We recommend a visual inspection and installation by a qualified gunsmith to assure utmost safety. I always strive to be fair and honest in my auctions! The item “Leather Sling From Springfield Trapdoor Brass Fittings Good Shape Original” is in sale since Saturday, September 21, 2019. This sling was originally made from 3 sections that are sewed together and the stitching is very strong. It has one brass hook that has a nice shape to it and is securely fastened. The vast majority of the surface is very nice with some surface wear on the end that has the keeper. Both keepers are very nice but the stitching has come loose where the ends meet. The leather is soft and pliable. There is no hard or stiff leather. The item “CIVIL WAR MUSKET OR RIFLE SLING LEATHER VERY GOOD CONDITION 65 ¼ inches” is in sale since Tuesday, August 27, 2019. For sale here is a great looking US WW1 or WW2 Era M1907 Leather Rifle Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1 Garand. I believe the sling is WW2 period due to the russet color that remains in places. The sling is complete with 2 leather keepers, 2 steel adjustment hooks, 2 blued steel slide hooks with blued rifle attachments, and 1 steel connector ring. 1 of the adjustment hooks has lost pretty much all of its finish, and the other appears to be blued, but also shows wear and finish loss. The leather is lightly stiffened, but is still plenty supple enough to move around as it should. The leather is good and strong, but there are a couple of places with surface finish loss and there is some surface cracking at a couple of the hole sets. All of the stitching is strong and the metal fittings, though worn, do not have any major issues. This sling will definitely display well, and should be fine for everyday carry as well. This sling has a great look and will be a good addition to your collection.
