Promised to be 100% authentic. Came from a prominent Southern Estate. Leather has wear / dry / cracking normal for age. Has no markings on sling or buckle. I believe it to be post Civil War. It is marked B. Co with the number “1″ below that (see pic 2). The sling shows wear with staining, scratches, scuffing and some cracking of the leather in places. The metal pieces show wear with tarnish and oxidation. From research on the internet this sling was made to be used on the US Springfield 1903 rifles and could also be used on the M1 Garand rifles.
