The leather is very strong, soft and pliable. It is stamped BOYT 43. It is faint on the left and deeper on the right. It will hold the weight of a rifle just fine. It has strong stitching. The surface is very smooth. Very little surface cracking. It comes with 2 very nice keepers. One is a reproduction. The other original one has strong. Strong and well attached. One original US issue brown leather sling with brass fittings, couldnt find any markings, traces but nothing legible, I took this one off a Krag that I stripped, but it will work for the US model of 1917 rifle, springfield 1903, 1903A3,1903 Mk. 1, or the M-1 garand. This one remains in good wartime used condition. Some normal drying of the leather from age/use. This was on a Garand. Parts Questions and Requests.
